Chippy Highchair

This well-loved highchair was one of the many weekend finds that I shared about last week. I wanted a distressed and worn look for this piece- to help add a little vintage charm.

I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.

Weekend Finds

This weekend I had a chance to go estate sale shopping. It's one of my favorite pastimes when we had the antique store, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

It's usually hit or miss at most sales, but I scored when I found this vintage highchair for $20. I can't wait to paint and distress this piece!

Then I found this vintage variety of white dishes and platters to use for decorating. They will be a great addition to my mismatched collection.

Finally, for Eleanor's current Mickey Mouse obsession I bought her the sweetest vintage books.

Empire Buffet Makeover

Hey there, it's been awhile! I am so excited to share with you what I worked on over the weekend! I inherited this antique empire buffet from my beloved grandmother last year. I originally planned to keep the natural tiger oak wood but it was just too orange for my taste. The piece had a few veneer issues that clearly needed covered. With a little hesitation I finally decided to bite the bullet and just paint the piece white.

Now I love the updated buffet even more than before. 

I decided to distress the piece and update the hardware.

It's new home will be in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Our future plan for the room will be a playroom for Eleanor and the buffet will serve as a TV console and extra storage.
