Arbor Covered Patio

All of these photos have me longing to throw a summer BBQ party...

I just may have one soon! I have been redecorating my back patio; we added a wooden
porch swing, more colorful potted flowers, a revamped coffee table, and a better seating arrangement.

I will post pictures when we finish our patio projects.

Let's Talk About Antiques

For some reason, I have a real hang-up with the word "antique". I know what your thinking.... She's an antique store owner. I know...

Let me explain.

I love old and vintage things. I find comfort in bringing them into my home. And I've always lived surrounded by them. For some reason, the word just seems so dull to me. And antiques aren't dull. In fact, they're cool.

Antiques and vintage items are actually the best way to add your own unique, one-of-a-kind style to your home. And they can be used in different and unexpected ways.

I think when many people hear the word antiques, they think of old sewing machines, high-laced women's boots, and old dolls. But to me, those are my grandmother's antiques.

These are mine.

And at our store, Jarman Interiors and Antiques, these are not your grandmother's antiques. They're yours. Because it's all about what you love and what you do with it.

Inside Courteney Cox's House

Courteney Cox has often spoken out about her love for design (she even studied it in college!) but we've never seen her place. Take a look around her "modern barn"-style home.

Courteney worked with her friend, designer Trip Haenisch, on her Malibu home's redesign, and was involved in every step of the way. She even came up with the overarching "modern barn" theme for the house. She describes it as "very simple, with bronzed-steel trim, white walls, and wood floors. Nothing too cluttered and not a lot of fancy details...[it's] exactly how I want to live."

Look at those windows! I love the mix of old and new: That lamp is vintage, from France, and the sectional and cocktail table is custom-made by Haenisch.

The graphic black logo pops against the white wall.
The amazing view and the wood sculpture warm up the dining room.

What a beautiful outdoor area with such a great view!

The vintage bar stools and slate flooring are lovely.

Love the lanterns, vintage chair, and area rug.
